The gas_DIMPGrid feature class contains polygonal grid cells used by the utility to support the Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP). This grid provides a consistent spatial framework for tracking inspections, surveys, material assessments, high-pressure system evaluations, public building evaluations, and other risk-related datasets required under federal and state pipeline safety regulations.
Each grid cell stores indicators representing the presence or completeness of various assessment types-residential, business, ductile iron, high-pressure, and public-building surveys-along with status fields and QC checks. Additional temporal fields track when surveys were performed or completed. This structure supports analytics, compliance tracking, prioritization of field activities, and risk scoring across the service territory.
Geometry is maintained in NAD83 / Virginia South (ftUS) projected coordinate system (EPSG:2284), ensuring alignment with all enterprise gas-related mapping layers and regulatory datasets. |
